Big server improvement nearly complete!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

For the last few days we’ve been overhauling our server environment and it’s almost done.  Right off the bat we’ve seen a dramatic improvement in performance such that browsing the server almost feels like browsing your local computer (excellent).  There are a couple oddities that we’re hammering out - for some reason (and clearly not a good outcome) tracks can not be auditioned - very strange.  But I expect we’ll have that nailed down in the next 12 hours.

Once we do that, and finalize a couple other things (like friend and tag radio) we’re going to remove the download request and open the service to everyone - yahoo!

Hectic Holidays!

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

It’s been a few weeks since we posted on this blog and with good reason.  The holidays always bring stress to ones life, especially when you work on a website and not just a typical 9-5 job!  We have been working tirelessly to roll out new features and update the site to make it more user friendly.

Our artist portal is a great addition to the rVibe software.  It actually allows bands to act as their own record company, marketing/pr department, and sales team.  Unsigned bands can put their own music on rVibe, advertise it any way they’d like, charge whatever they’d like, and watch as they make money.  It’s a pretty awesome concept!

Along with the artist portal, we are working on a few more major advances that you will see in the next few weeks.  So keep your eyes on rVibe!
